Two Interesting Things I Just Have To Share On Ted Bundy And Jerry Falwell:
Edited on Sun Dec-19-10 08:34 AM by RBInMaine
Ted Bundy, the horrid serial killer tried and then fried in Florida in 1989 (thank goodness), was a very active RePUKE who actually headed up a campaign office in Washington state for a gov. election there so I read recently. (Has this ever been mentioned here before?) Of course serial killers are the ultimate greedy rotten horrid selfish evil immoral narcissists, so it only makes sense that he was an active Republican.

Christopher Hitchens is quoted as saying that "If you gave Jerry Falwell an enima you could bury him in a match box." The very same could be said of Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, and the rest of that waste of space.

Just thought I'd share.

3. I'm just sayin'...
that Gacy lived in greater Chicago, and serial killers want to blend in with their surroundings. You got any other examples of Democrats moonlighting as serial killers? Just sayin'.

6. Political affiliation is a matter of convenience with serial killers
is what I'm saying, and what you confirmed. Thanks. :toast:

8. Convenience, yes
but when it comes to the defining characteristic of a 'typical' serial killer, they share far more with conservatives than with liberals: the desire to control others. I could carry this further by pointing out that some of the worst dictators ever to walk the earth were de facto serial killers with oftentimes millions of times more victims than any 'typical serial killer. Dictators are notorious for their desire to control, and I will preemptively dismiss the notion of calling Stalin a 'leftist.'

2. Dig a little deeper
and you'll find striking parallels between Bundy & Dim Son Boosh - aside from the 'separated at birth?' side-by-side photos, that is. Further research will uncover conservative leanings on practically every other serial killer, with the sole exception of John Wayne Gacy...who lived in Chicago, after all, and really dedicated serial killers want to blend in with their environment, yunno.

5. Hey, that's a good point. Bundy and W do look a lot alike don't they. Maybe Poppy jumped the fence?

7. LOL Love the Hitchens quote
as was posted here on DU when Falwell died (forgot who the poster was):

When someone dies you are supposed to say something good.
Falwell is dead.
Good.

9. I was in Lynchburg the week-end of Falwell's funeral.
He and his church and his "university" were/are the financial lifeblood of the city. And it was reflected in the most unusual places. We went to pick up take-out at a restaurant and the screen-saver of the cash register had black crepe and "Rest In Peace" language for Jerry on it.

10. I think serial killers
are sociopaths that will take whatever "protective coloring" they need to operate in whatever mileau they find themselves.

Also, for anyone interested in true crime, there is a true crime forum here on DU.
