Now he is recognized for the Great Society and the Civil Rights Act.

45 years from now, President Obama will be recognized as the creator of National Health Care and the father of LGBTQI Rights.

Edited because someone has an issue with approximates.

1. You're correct, it's a shame that killing little brown kids is no
big deal in American History.

3. Only survivors on the losing side care about past wars
One of our first foreign military acts as a nation was against Barbary Pirates. I don't hear much about their plight or an official apology as a nation from the US.

5. Oh, I don't know. I think the victors in Vietnam still care.
But, I doubt they'll apologize to us.

7. That's because Nixon "ended the war"
That's one of the reasons he's more liberal than President Obama, ya know? :sarcasm:

9. Well, Obama's still searching for the light at the end of the tunnel in his "necessary" war.

12. I doubt that Vietnam is forgotten. LBJ and Nixon's name remain linked.
And Afghanistan belongs to Obama as much as it does to Bush.

Wishful thinking aside, history won't change that.

On the other hand, history will not record the legislation as the creation of National Health Care, particularly since it was never proposed.

As to being called "the father of LGBTQI Rights", uh, no.

13. What "National Health Care"? We have the 'individual mandate' to buy insurance.
Insurance is NOT health care.

14. The president who championed mandated private, for-profit insurance
is not going to be recognized as the creator of any National Health Care program. The "father" of LGBTQI rights? You're kidding, right?

16. You know, as someone who has worked diligently for LGBTQI rights, ceding the limelight
to Obama pisses me off. Obama did not give the LGBTQI community rights. The community wrested those rights for themselves through decades of activism.
