All fox talks about is the Muslim Brotherhood instead of focusing on the fact that Egypt
now has a democracy. The right just doesn't want a democracy and continues to use fear on their unintelligent listeners.

3. They don't have it yet. Mubarak and friends changed the Constitution to allow elections
with a couple of other changes centered on the elections.

And, if they are sending Diebold and ES & S machines it's all over before it even starts.

7. One that is, at the very least, making all the correct noises so far
Edited on Sat Feb-12-11 06:43 PM by Posteritatis
If they follow through on those then this will have been a good thing, and I keep hearing the Egyptian street's cautiously optimistic so far. At least in my own case I'm reserving judgment until we see where things go there; they don't have a democracy right now (except for the fact that the demos just tossed out the previous kratos), but that could very well start changing.

Past that I imagine everyone over there's got the "okay, now what?" hangover going on.

10. unfortunately, it seems all contrived
see this post for more thoughts on the transition...

What made Mubarak Change his mind? Was it contrived to have the people cheer military rule?

9. Why would someone fear a Muslim?
They probably have some concepts that can help many people, don't know much about that religion. Although the nanny state part of the social rule for ease of the rulers not for the people, I disagree with.

12. you might want to ask some of the people killed
by the Saudi government, Taliban, Iranians, etc over the years why would someone fear a Muslim

that's right-you can't because they're dead

15. Even if they threaten to kill you, or kill you.
Edited on Sat Feb-12-11 07:07 PM by RandomThoughts
Why would that create fear?

And I figure there are different parts of what some say are 'Muslim' and some of those parts hurt, just like different parts of other groups.

But you did not answer the question, why would you fear if someone was to threaten you, or even fear being dead? I think that defines what dead is.

It is the fearing of something unjust to intimidate that is death, not some presumed loss within a concept of mortal existence.

16. Not my view but it is the message the right has been pushing
for the last 10 years.

The entire years under the bu$h regime we were bombarded with message of fear all aimed at the Muslims.

this cheap-ass propaganda outfit (& all their blabbermouths!) seriously needs to be ignored! The whole world celebrates the overthrow of a wicked dictator in Egypt while fux noise foments more fear of non-anglo/saxon types! anyone who watches fux (without also watching democracy now, aljazeera-english or whatever opposing viewpoint) is a real idiot! It's interesting to see the reaction here vs. the reaction with respect to democracy in Iraq. With the purple fingers and such.

It is a twofer for FOX News. Both words "Brotherhood" and "Muslim" score high on Luntz's Scare-O-Meter individually. Put them together and "hokey smokes" you got yerself a phrase that will scare the bejeezus out Auntie Pearl in Possum Trot, KY.

25. This is why Fox News Viewers are always coming out the
most misinformed Americans.

It seems q hr. on the hr.. "What about that Big BAD
Muslim Brotherhood.".

This afternoon they had this guy (private security firm)
who got on there and said no change has taken place
other than Mubarak is gone. The Military is in charge
and this is good for America and Israel. Up is down in
Fox World. I hope the Government is not using this guy.

way they manipulate the sheeple. Keep them afraid
so they agree to anything the leaders want to do.
The Government has to spend money keeping those
bad guys away.
