LAPORTE COUNTY | A man with his vehicle stuck on railroad tracks near Michigan City told a police officer a snowman was driving.

Police didn't buy his claim in arresting Aaron Kelly, 30, of Michigan City, on a misdemeanor charge of operating while intoxicated.

About 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a LaPorte County sheriff's deputy was called to the area of Earl Road and County Line Road.

He approached Kelly, who turned off the ignition after revving his engine to try and free the lodged vehicle, police said. ............(more)
