Many Repubs that I know are on the government dole...
But they don't think they are.

They retired from the military early and then, got another job, usually with the government. They are classic "double dippers". They continue to get government healthcare and every penny the government offers that they know about. And they take advantage of it.

But they hate big government.

The old saying about "being careful of what you wish for might apply to these folks."

I'm already starting to hear grumbling about Obama raising taxes and cutting benefits.

Most likely, many of the Tea Party people are also on some type of government "dole". They will be the first to scream uncle when they are asked to sacrifice.

They are different from those Democrats that are on the dole. They deserve theirs.

1. But they deserve the government help, it is all those welfare queens
and SSDI scammers who should lose their help.

At least this is what a Freeper coworker whose husband is "disabled" tells me.

3. We should demand that all Republican voters stop collecting any government checks...
that would be fun.

4. There is a core hypocrisy in a great many republicons
Edited on Sun Feb-13-11 06:55 PM by SpiralHawk
They claim to be 'conservative' but trashed the US economy with their borrow-and-squander policies, and totally trashed the environment with rogue greed.

They claim to be 'patriotic' but over and over they choose bona fide chickenhawks to be their so-called 'leaders'

They claim to be morally chaste & thus somehow superior to Americans, but are in fact tapping their toes in public bathroom stalls & having extramarital diaper sex with faux lesbian rentboy B & D hookers.

Etc. etc. etc.

There you have it...

7. You didn't think the people on the other side actually understood the issues at hand, did you?
They just spew rubbish because it's what the rightwing douchebags on the AM dial say.

8. Wait? You mean they went through basic training
and then served twenty years in the military, perhaps sometimes going to war and being shot at, and then retired and then got other jobs, but they don't realize that they are just like my 51 year old friend who has been on section 8 housing for the last twenty years and almost never worked a job where he wasn't paid cash and thus avoided taxes until he finally got on mental disability for his disabling "workophobia" about ten years ago?

The poor, deluded fools.

does not mean that all the rest of the people are that way...

11. I keep hearing repugs complaining about how shitty VA hospitals are
as part of their attack against Universal health care. So I ask them why they don't go to a private hospital and pay for their treatments out of pocket. They never have much of an answer for that.

14. I know a Rethug that got a minor wound in Vietnam back in 1968
He served less that two years in the Army and has received a military disability ever since. He got a job in a coal mine and worked 28 years and got a disability from the company for a bad back and SS disability. He got asbestosis disease and has collected well over $60000 in checks from that. He goes to a Pittsburgh VA hospital for free on a VA van for all his medical needs. He gets around $70000 a year in pensions and SS and all free medical care. He constantly bitches about the freeloaders on heating assistance, free lunches, welfare, Medicare, you name it. Hates every Democrat that ever breathed. The guy is 63 same as me and has better health than I do, doesn't even take any medication.

12. It is unfortunate that many of our homeless are veterans...
..who may have seen more combat and stress in 2 or 3 years than many lifers saw in twenty years. They chose not to make a career of it.

15. "They retire from the military" - brainwashed to be repugs. It does
not work with everyone but many believe the propaganda. Not only do they deserve what they get but the are taught that the repug ways are the right ways.
