It happened because more than 9 out of 10 people you see walking down the street are complete idiots. Those 90% weren't all self identified Republicans either. Promise.

Bush had more than 90% of the people in this country bullshitted into believing he was just swell for a while. Think the Republicans have forgotten how easy that was to pull off? Bad news. Bet they haven't.

Think about that for a minute.

6. The problem is that many people...
are so willfully ignorant that they won't know who the bad guys are. Beck and those assholes will point them all in the direction that will hurt the wrong people.
The Egyptians blamed the police.... Beck will have them blaming the "Moooslums and the Messicans".... Oh, wait... he's there already.

2. Hell... less than 50% of the eligibles even VOTE...
... for fuck's sake!

Still, the "educated" who go to the polls and are big earners are idiots, too. Why? I think it's too difficult to think their lifestyle may have to be defended, as it's on the backs of people .... COUNTLESS people through time that have traded their labor, no unions, or union busting for cheaper products and sacred cows like the stock market and everything else that's rigged.

Blinders... these same people who DO vote have blinders on.

I don't know if "idiot" describes what I'm feeling when people who ARE capable of thinking would rather stay fat and happy as they continue to be willfully ignorant of the remaining beings of the earth.

15. It's not a complete explanation..
... but I take your point, also.

My concern is over the people who don't vote, but in particular the people who DO and what their issues are. Can they really understand, and are they capable?

To be too stupid to vote is one thing you can blame on stupidity. But, when you actually are motivated to vote and DO, what bullshit was pumped up (example many races in November, resulting in my state and the asshat of a Republican Governor (Tom Corbet) who is able to get plenty of that money form outside shale gas industry.

The people who BOUGHT his message.... That is MY concern. They have maybe a few more brain cells then those who didn't vote.

RIGHT?

19. All it takes is a a good slogan like "Compassionate Conservative", remember that one?
And the morons will fall all over themselves going to vote for another Republican.

Or use a bullhorn. Americans like bullhorns.

8. When you look at the governors elected in states like OH, FL, and WI... yeah
I can see exactly how an idiot like Bush got selected President and enjoyed (for a time) high approval ratings.

Why do you think they want to destroy our public education system? So the plebes can continue to be unaware of world affairs, lacking critical thinking skills, and easily brainwashed into voting against their economic and social interests.

We just barely dodged a bullet in Illinois. Quinn/Simon won it by a hangnail.

These are very dangerous and scary times.

11. Although 90% turns my stomach, let's be clear.
His approval rating was at 90% for maybe an hour. He said what everyone wanted to hear right after 9/11, and that made people feel better....but not for long.

16. Lets be clearer
The shithead while on vacation received a PDB entitled: Bin Laden determined to strike in US, and he stayed on vacation and let 9/11 occur on his watch killing 3000 people.

http://articles.cnn.com/2004-04-10/politics/august6.memo_1_bin-conduct-terrorist-attacks-abu-zubaydah?_s=PM:ALLPOLITICS

And for that more than 90% approved of the job he was doing?

Do those sound like smart people to you?

Don

27. Thanks for that graph. It is almost laughable, if it were not so sad.
God, the majority in the country can certainly be easily swagged (why can't our side do that???), but I take a little comfort in how short-lived that approval is.

It wasn't like the government was going to help all these patriots get out of the debt they were willing to put themselves in for the "sake of the country".

And now that I think about it, funny how it all worked out. Who got screwed?

18. His was only 90% directly after 9/11.
And that's only because the American people decided to cross their fingers and say, "Well, he's a moron. But he's our moron. Let's hope for the best."

And as you know, the "best" never came.
