On the war on drugs and reality TV
I was going back and forth the TV before we went into real serious breaking news on CNN. So I stopped at the TLC show, female cops of Dallas or something like that.

Yes it was a shiny moment, and I saw the EMTs working on a guy about 20 or so. This is the point, the camera panned to the ground as he was injured in a shootout. The casings on the ground told this set of trained eyes that indeed that was a SERIOUS shooting, as in high caliber weapons, and yes it was drug related.

Now to any of you who have never been in a shoot out due to the war on drugs... well it may look like just bad guys on bad guys. To me it was a small local war. Yes the violence has moved north. Oh and this patient was not from MS-13 but another gang,

That was not good to see.

1. Normally...
I'd say let the gangs shoot at each other to their hearts' content.

But too many innocents get hit in the process.

2. The other option is legalize drugs
and take the business away from them once and for all.

3. It will end up in legalization
to me it is far from academic.

4. I hear it occasionally, cars full of thugs shooting at each other
on the main streets around my neighborhood. No, it's never good news and it's always a terrible sound. I'm always amazed by both their poor marksmanship and the fact that I don't find bullets buried in the stucco coating my house.

If only we could stop being stupid about things, legalize everything, undersell the black market while closing down the pipeline to kids, and put the scum out of business.
