I'm glad I was wrong
Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 02:33 PM by Recursion
Mea culpa.

I didn't think there was the energy in the US to sustain what we're seeing in Wisconsin, and I'm very, very glad I was wrong.

2. I too am surprised, but pleasantly. This is unprecedented, almost. Anti-war demonstartions were...
...about the only causes with large participation in the past. The "marches" on Washington were successful, but ambiguous in their message, and only single events.

3. I think we can thank protestors around the world.
The energy has shifted to the people taking power...(or at the least not taking the crap that has been dished out for too long now).

Yes!!!!!!!!!

4. I think that the catalyst was several event
The shooting in AZ
The uprising in Egypt and the rest of the continent
The attack on women
The attack on minorities
The attack on labor
The outsourcing of jobs
The Koch brothers finally getting publicity
The Supreme Court ruling......
High Unemployment rates
The inept House led by Boner
The Election of Koch funded Republican Governers
Faux Propaganda......
The outright attack on teachers, firefighters and all goverment and union workers......

I think with all of these different issues in the pot the Republicans lost control. While they were distracting with bullshit, Birther and other things they managed to keep the focus off of what they were really doing. They have lost control of their runaway train......

Americans are awake now and they are starting to show the ACTUAL numbers of us versus them......This is just the beginning.....

5. The camel has finally noticed how many straws were being piled on its back.
And is becoming understandably reluctant to assume any more, regardless of the trainer's coaxing and cajoling.

Or, as that Great American, Popeye, put it: "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more!"
