Here are some of the things your House of Representatives did early this morning:

* Voted to strip funding from just about every EPA project, including air quality, emissions, and water pollution monitoring.
* Defunded NOAA
* Stripped funds to administer the Affordable Care Act.
* Eliminated funds for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
* Continued $53 billion in oil subsidies
* Tried to eliminate Davis-Bacon rules for government projects (that failed)
* Stripped federal workers of their salaries in positions within agencies targeted for defunding

Of course, yesterday they defunded Planned Parenthood, FCC allocations for enforcement of Net Neutrality rules, and the entire Affordable Care Act.

Our opportunity to prevent this was during the last election when we actually had a pretty good chance of keeping both houses of Congress. Progressive organizations were basically non-existent during the last election. The DNC did absolutely nothing. President Obama was barely showing interest. I recall reading posts on this very website from "Democrats" who were busy discussing how they were going to vote for Charlie Crist in Florida. Elections do have consequences...and this is what happens. The time to stop these kinds of things are the months before and during elections...there is nothing we can do after we lose. The Democratic machine was completely broken down this past election. We can argue about who is to blame (I have my own ideas), but the fact is it is our own fault.

I hope and pray we get our act together before the next election, but I hate to say this, I have not seen any progress towards fixing the mess the Democratic Party machine is in right now. We have NO leadership.
