Wis. Firefighter: ‘We Stand Together or We Fall Together’
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is trying to take away the freedom of nurses, teachers and other workers across the state to bargain for middle-class jobs and living standards.

In a new TV ad airing in Wisconsin, Racine Fire Fighter (IAFF) member Mike DeGarmo says the state’s public workers—including firefighters and police officers who are exempted from Walker’s bill—are standing together and ask all Wisconsin workers to stand with them.

When our crew is face to face with a fire, we stand together, or we fall together. It’s that simple. Now nurses, teachers and other public employees have come together to stand up for Wisconsin workers. Governor Walker, public employees have agreed to the cuts you asked for. And now they’re simply asking that you not take away their rights. We stand together, or we fall together. And we’re asking the people of Wisconsin to stand with us.

1. Truth is, some WILL fall.
And we ought to acknowledge their sacrifice and help them and their families.

2. That's it, short and sweet
And the Mighty Republican Wurlitzer is wheezing overtime to try to convince some working people that other working people don't deserve the pay and benefits they negotiated and contracted for. In fact, they don't even deserve to negotiate ever again! Take what the bosses deign to "give" you and be satisfied with that, and don't go poking around into financial matters that don't concern you.

3. Firefighters are a breed unto themselves.
Don't know what it is about them. They seem to posses and extra chromosome of character, love, and bravery. a firefighter PRN.

9. In the 60's the Madison firefighters stood with the antiwar movement.
They were rock-solid with us. When the Gestapo wanted them to hose us down, they wouldn't do it. When we set trash fires in the streets, they would come & watch the stuff burn with us, just watching to make sure the fires didn't get out of hand.

10. They've been with us since the beginning.
The Madison cops deserve special accolades or the way they have dealt with the demonstrations.

12. The Pugs love them every 9/11 and they stab them
in the back. So many died on that day and more dieing because they cared enough to work through the rubble and honor those who didn't make it.

Whatever compensation they or their families receive is NOT enough.
