Why should David Koch get priority over the rest of Wisconsinites?
Why?

He owns things and has money?

But I thought we all were given unalienable rights? "...all men are created equal..." I mean, it's not explicitly described there, but it says AMONG THESE are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I think the right to be heard by those in power is one of those. The framers of the federal constitution thought so:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
--First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Why should it not be the same going on down the line from there at the state, county and municipal levels of government?

This is our problem.

We now believe that it's acceptable for someone to accumulate an almost limitless amount of wealth, and that somehow this won't affect their ability to influence our government.

On DU and elsewhere, we know that's not true. But that's the bullshit most American children are force fed in the modern era. In my classes, there was mention of the robber barons and trust busting, but none about the fact that it's happening all over again.

What the hell good is voting if the asshole you vote for is going to listen only to the people who have the money in our society?

Conservatives might suggest, and logically so, that it's their guy, because they voted for him. That this is cool, because they got the majority of votes, and they happen to agree with Mr. David Koch's intentions, (the guy who the impostor pretended to be on the prank call.)

BUT, and I do mean but, do you really think one Governor Walker of the great state of Wisconsin would even consider taking one of their calls, if they're little people? Other than for a gimmick? HELL NO!!!

And this all is true for Democrats too. I can bet you that if you're a big donor, your ass moves to the front of the line, ahead of the little people.

Why should these people have any more say in our government than we do? FUCK THEM!

One person, one vote, one say. No more, no less.

The difference? Koch has money, and they don't.

3. Do You Think A Democrat Would Be Different?
Kudos to the Buffalo Beast for showing publicly what goes on behind the scenes in many political offices. It's the golden rule...those who have the gold make the rules and their calls get answered. Right now every congresscritter and 1/3 of the Senate (mostly Democrats) are out raising upwards of several million dollars, if not a lot more, for their elections next year. Those $25 and $50 donors don't quite add up to the ones who can write the $2,300 checks (not just once but several times over) along with big money contributions to campaign PACs. They'll always get their calls answered and promptly. The "little guy" only matters AFTER the money is collected, never before.

9. Koch is a bastard
This evil, petty little man and his brother are trying to singlehandedly usurp and subvert the entire democratic process in this country. They are slinging large, offensive salvos in the class war and they need to be stopped. By any means necessary. :grr:
