Mike Huckabee - screw government workers but I'm okay because Fox pays me big bucks
I used to have a grudging respect for Mike Huckabee because he seemed to have a little more integrity than the average wingnut. No longer.

He want to kill government unions and slash their benefits. At the same time he bemoaned that he had no nest egg because he was a poor underpaid public servant himself. As Governor I am sure he got a nice salary and a free home among other things. But he's okay now because he's getting paid big bucks to spout complete and utter bullshit on Fox News.

Pity your average public employee can't feather their next egg like he can.

The utter selfish and ignorant venality of the leaders on the far right never ceases to amaze me. I should be used to it my now.

2. He conned me for a while
That smooth personality oozed sincerity and I admit I was partially drawn in for a time.

6. Likewise. Me too.
But like any Rethug, give him enough time and the true colors come glaring through. Despite his occasional lapses into near-sanity.

8. Mike Huckabee is or will be drawing over $50,000 a year from Arkansas as a pension.

Well, Huckabee piled up enough enhanced service as governor to qualify for a pension probably in the range of $50,000 a year, which many government-employed garbage men would kill for. (Huckabee was bemoaning the "parasitic" public employee unions.) He spent 10 years in wholly expenses-paid circumstances (house, servants, cars, planes, food, dog food, dry cleaning). He should have been able to save a significant chunk of money, particularly given all the gifts that rained down on him and his wife during his tenure. He was so impoverished he bought a half-million-dollar house before he left office. His public office was a springboard for his media career, of course.
