Ohio could lose as many as 2 seats in Congress
http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/ohio-news/ohio-could-lose-as-many-as-2-seats-in-congress-1034825.html

<<TOLEDO, Ohio — Ohio is in line to be the biggest loser Tuesday when the Census Bureau releases state population totals that will determine how congressional districts are divided up.

Ohio has 18 congressional districts, but its population isn't keeping pace with other states.

Democrats stand to lose the most because Republicans who swept the state elections in November now will control the process of redrawing the congressional districts. Conventional wisdom says they'll target seats now held by Democrats. "I'd be shocked if they didn't do that," said Democratic strategist Gerald Austin.

Among the Ohio Democrats in Congress who could face losing their district are Cleveland's Dennis Kucinich and Betty Sutton, who represents suburban Cleveland and the Akron area.<<

4. It is. Some states have well-written laws on re-districting.
Others do not. It's a pity we didn't get a bigger Democratic turnout in November, I think. That might have forestalled this change in control of state legislators. A real shame.

7. They're pretty good. It's harder now to create weird-looking districts,
or to separate parts of cities.

8. Good, although I saw Bachmanns district and that certainly looks
gerrymandered.

9. Yes. I think the current rules came about after that redistricting.
I've only been here for six years, so I'm not up on all the changes before I got here.

2. I have a feeling that all the voting machines are rigged in
Ohio. There will never be another democrat elected there until this is corrected.

3. Sad to say, but with Jennifer Brunner on her way out, so goes early by mail voting.
This state will be racing to the bottom and join the low achieving Southern states in the red column.

I want to move.

5. California will have 3 vacancies
as of Dec. 27. My niece is moving to Michigan to be closer to her husbands family.
