Arlen Specter shows class in his closing argument - attacks GOP right wing control
and lock step voting, says they make real compromise "impossible"...link:

Specter, a PA Democrat after decades as a Republican, will be gone after this session ends. The GOP hated him for being too liberal - he may be one of the last real moderate republicans in the Senate.
He lost the primary to Joe Sestak despite White House support. Sestak then lost the election to right wing extremist republican Pat Toomey, leaving PA with one Democratic Senator, Bob Casey.
