Yay.
I ll be happy when it is actually implemented, you know the knuckle dragin ones will whine and moan.

It really kills me the way some of those opposing legislators slandered us for our wanting to serve...honey how many of them are veterans and if so do they still get VA benefits?

I lost mine when outed.
Happy will be the day when we can all be who we are w/o haters using the fact that we live as a club.

11. Repeal of DADT: Current-day version of "Standing Bear Becomes a Person."
Read all about it in "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee."

A good day for America.

31. It was a revelation to me. I grew up hearing "We're part Indian"...
... all my life. But it was whispered about as though shameful.

At 50, I took a series of Native American Studies classes and had my eyes opened. That book was assigned for one of the classes.

I'm proof that secrets can hide right out in the open. I did not know about the American Holocause until I took those classes and started reading.

As to being "part Indian," we are scattered about the landscape in our numbers, and full-blood Native Americans are often and understandably annoyed by people making such claims.

We have Indian Market every year here in Santa Fe, and this year there was a man walking around (obviously a full-blood "Indian" or something close to it, based on his physical features) wearing a t-shirt that said "I'm part White, but I can't prove it."

Enjoy the read.
