By attacking teachers, firefighters and police officers
the GOP has totally overplayed its hand. Christie even went as far to say police and firefighters are greedy. The very people who put their lives on the line are greedy?!?! You have to be kidding me. Do we really want a race to the bottom when public safety is at stake?

More importantly, I don't think the typical American will stand for such attacks. If you are in the working or lower to mid middle class, any one of these professions has long been looked on as a noble profession, a safe career that perhaps didn't pay the best but made up for it with good benefits and job security. These are the people in the community we look up to, that we tell our children to look up to. They are our family members and neighbors and an attack on them is an attack on us.

And whereas the tea party was an astroturf movement, we are seeing an actual grassroots uprising across the country. And the more the GOP attacks, the more the American people will dig in to protect their way of life.

1. Did not the police unions whole heartedly support the bombastic Christie for Governor?

2. Really?
I don't think so. And if they did because they were misled, do they deserve this?

I think you are missing the point of what I wrote.

3. The post Reagan Republican position on unions is clear
to anyone who is involved in the political field.

5. Yeah, but how informed are the average voters?
In electing Republicans, I really don't think they were expecting this. Look at how much the support for Walker has tumbled as the public learned what he's really about.

9. If Democrats are the answer
what happened to Obama and the Blue Dogs?

We need a multiparty system, not a 1.5 party system.

Peace,
Tex Shelters

10. What we need and what we have are two different things
So you think we should sit it out until this multiparty system magically appears?

15. I never said that we
should "sit down". Where did all that venom come from?

Are you happy with Obama and most congressional Dems?

I give money to progressive Dems and the rest I have no time for.

And I also support the Greens. Uh oh, now I'm in for it.

So why all the ass-u-me-ing?

Peace,
Tex Shelters

11. +1 For the most part, Democrats just eat up union funds that could be used for strike benefits.
I think unions should cut off all Democrats who don't push a union line and they should use that money to strike.

17. Just wait, they will call veterans greedy next... oh wait
they already attempt to cut benefits on them weekly. When a significant portion of our Armed Forces families are on food stamps, we don't care about those who risk their lives.

That says that many in government also want to reduce our population - attack those who care about our children, attack anything that cares about our health care, and attack those who protect our lives.

Anyone who can't see it isn't putting two and two together very well.
