How about if we just privatize the presidency and the congress?
Why not? Why keep going through some voting charade every few years?

It's become apparent that whoever is "elected," the American peasantry is going to go on getting screwed every way imaginable.

So if we did privatize the presidency and the congress, how would we go about deciding who gets to occupy the thrones of power?

Easy. We have a TV show called "American Emperors." The judges would be the Koch brothers, Richard Mellon Scaife, Joseph Coors, and a few other hand-picked "deciders." (It's what happens right now, so why not just broadcast it in prime time?)

Can anyone see any flaw in this idea? I'm damned if I can see one.

28. Next step: OFFSHORE them.
I bet it's much cheaper to buy politicans if they're from China or India. Maybe we'd have a shot at buying ourselves some representation?

3. Congress was officially privatized with the Citizens United
decision. We are now a corporatist state. One state, Utah, wants to make it law that the US is not a democracy.

Looks like this prick in Wisconsin is going to get away with this bullshit. Maybe it's too soon to call but, I don't like the way this is going. But, wtf do I know.

they play favoritism, they will face the same angry mob the legislature is facing.

You mean, the one where centrists voted for Republicans and the Blue Dogs ate it? Like that?

Or, are you just happy to see us?

24. do you doubt it happened, or you just don't think it qualifies as a shit-fit?
There are plenty of them here wondering why not voting was such a bad thing if you need some evidence that it actually happened.

14. You mean just have a CEO and Board of Directors?
But what would they sell to make a profit? I could guess. All the people who are out of work because of outsourcing could be sold as slaves. Our forests could be stripped for lumber. BP kinda ruined the fishing in the Gulf so that's not a very good market.

keep administrative employees permanently so someone knows how things work (much like small town management here) and replace the lottery losers every 4 years.

34. ...and run the country like a business? If they did that one of the first things
they would be forced to do is repeal the unified budget act to prevent further looting of Social Security and to report budget deficits correctly. Then they would have to find a way of fairly generating $2 trillion over the next few years to pay back the American workers.
