Second job to help with Christmas (Put a gun to his head and got his wallet)
Edited on Thu Dec-23-10 09:44 PM by Omaha Steve

I just found out. We don't want my mom to know. Early this morning my brother in law that clerks at a convenience store had a gun put to his head. They took the stores cash, cigarettes, beer, and his wallet. He is shaken but fine.

This could have been the worst family Christmas since my Aunt had a fatal heart attack during Christmas Eve Dinner in 1985.

1. Too bad most stores don't let you pack heat.
Often just brandishing a gun is enough to scare off the vast majority of robbers -- they go for easier pickings.

2. Yes, I'm very cynical about that...
I have always thought they don't want to get sued by the scumbag robber, or his survivors when said robber gets shot or killed.

4. That's exactly what it is.
A friend of mine worked in a convenience store and got robbed twice. The second time he pulled out a gun and they fled.

Funny, the store was never robbed again after that incident made the news. But he was fired because of company policy.

5. The important thing he is OK.
The thief will be caught, and sent to prison for a long time.

He did the right thing, let him have whatever he want. Everything is insured, and video surviellance are king which a LOT of convenience store has... I have never been in one without it.

As long as he is OK, there is nothing to stress your mother about... I am sorry about your aunt.. my grandmother died of heart failure in 1984... last day of Passover...
