Republicans Plot Death of EPA

I've always been a lurker here ,but today I was browsing through Free Republic and saw something that blew my mind.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2646778/posts

From FR: "“how about disolving the EPA?”

"Thank God for the Republicans.

I hope Republicans do stop or better abolish the EPA and FCC as they said they would stop them."

" ...Now the FDA we could entirely live without. Private enterprise would quickly come up with companies similar to Underwriters Laboratory that would do a much better job for much less money and with much more freedom for choice and innovation. The FDA should definitely be abolished!"

These people are stupid beyond belief. They are so brainwashed that they seriously would trust a private company to tell them whether something is safe. It's as if the history from 1850-1950 completely passed them by. If it were up to them , we would still be dumping DDT by the ton and have quack medicine.

I mean I knew they were fake Christians, heartless and so on ,but this is simply astounding. There is a serious lack of critical thinking here. Something is amiss. I guess the whole Gulf Spill thing just passed these guys by. How do you see such a disastrous example as the BP oil spill and think, BIG GUBBERMINT IS DER PERBLEM.

Another enigma :

" Dear Rep/Sen _______________, it has become increasingly obvious that the president intends to use the power of the MANY agencies to bypass the will of the people and Congress. For that reason, it is imperative for Congress to reclaim the power it has abdicated to the executive branch. I propose a simple amendment that be put in EVERY bill voted on by Congress until it passes. ....."

So you love the constitution ,but you're willing to crap all over it when it suits you?

How do we reason with these people?

4. I think they have propagandists that post in those groups because
they know that many of the people there do not think for themselves.
Why don't more people just join and disagree with them?

7. I don't know.
Have had something similar with someone about economics on another board, and gave facts and figures that lots of people know, even right-wingers. And the person said it was all just propaganda.

The only way to get them to understand what is important is probably if they are somehow affected.

Don't know how.

Welcome to DU. Hope you post more often.

they'll complain that someone better do something, but it will be too late.

9. The sheep are always too stupid to know they're being led to slaughter
Even when they're herded into the meat packing plant... Sick analogy but a perfect description of our future if the non-thinkers have control of our government, with the strings being pulled by the greedy psychopaths (the rich).

11. I'm not too worried
They've been plotting the demise of government agencies for decades, and haven't done diddly/squat when push came to shove. If it didn't happen during the Bush Reign of Error, all the thumping on their little pigeon chests is just to hear themselves bleat.

with the debt of tax cuts, two wars, Medicare Part D, etc, etc.

This Republican house will attempt the coup de grâce.

But, a lot of Republican voters depend on SS and Medicare. "Hands off my SS."

14. That is how we broke up the USSR, bankrupted them.
That was Ronny Raygun's plan from the get go: spend them into the grave. And the Soviet Union was being fed so much disinformation that they tried to keep up with our spending on weapons systems, even though half of our "programs" were nothing but cardboard cutouts and vapor ware.
