LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - With the snowfall we've seen during the month of December, many have been out enjoying it. But, you might want to reconsider what you build out of snow - it may be a violation of the law.

Neighbors along North 7th Street in Lafayette said two sculptures of male genitals were simply "disgusting." The sculptures have since been torn down, but the controversial issue still serves as a reminder that obscene sculptures do violate state law.

"Other kids are living on this block. It's just really rude for other kids to have to see what they've been doing," said Brire Gill, a kid who lives across the street.

Gill said what he and other kids in the neighborhood saw Wednesday morning was upsetting. Two snow sculptures in the shape of male genitals were on display at their neighbors' house.

"I think it's disgusting. I have a two-year-old. Like, right now, he doesn't even know what that is. It's just not even....people shouldn't do that. It's very irresponsible," said Ghina Robinson, who also lives across the street.

The beauty or ugliness of a tool, it seems to me, is always in the eye of the beholder. Because it really doesn't comment on the functionality of the item in question- be it penises, vaginas, buttocks, earlobes, breasts, noses, etc- just their aesthetic. I would submit the thought that we live in a world filled with those so-looking bits only because humanity for upwards of a million and a half years has continued to find them "worth using", heh heh. So they can't be all that repellent.

I was looking at a website in which women can send pictures of their breasts so that young women or older ones with body issues can see what real, normal breasts look like. Instead of the ones you see so frequently in magazines, etc. Anyway, there was a picture of a pair of very small, saggy, wrinkled breasts and it was just a chest shot, not face and nothing below the navel.

The caption read something like "These are my breasts. They are small, stretch-marked, wrinkled and have successfully fed 7 children."

I glanced back up at the picture in wonder. I kept thinking "Those are some beautiful breasts."
