3. Propose a good date!
And place!

(I would really prefer it be within the Chicago CTA map, because I live in the city and don't have a car)

6. But anywhere within the parameters that a carless person could get to by train or bus
I'd be willing to go to.

8. How about Bar Louie in Oakpark??
Food and Drinks, cute place. Green line stop is about 2 blocks away. I don't drink, except weddings, but other people might want to. The area is pretty populated and busy.

11. What are hotel prices like there?
Any Red Roof types near by? I love to travel, but I am cheap.

12. Cheapest hotel in Oak Park is 99 a night.
The closer you get to O'hare the more you will find. It's about 15 min away.

13. That would be doable
for one night.
Now, is there a forum on DU that you can keep it up on? Like a state or other one?

15. I want to participate.
But I live in Chicago and don't own a car, and I don't have a driver's license either. I really want it to be somewhere in CTA range.

16. This Again? LOL
I think every year DU'ers around this area talk about a get-together and then the next year passes and the same thing. I'd definitely cross post this in the Illinois forum.

Problem is finding a place where all can meet...city folk don't like going out to the burbs and visa versa. Then there's the north side/south side thing. But I'm all for it. Lots of great DUers in this region and be fun to meet.

17. Myself, I like the anonimity of DU. There's nobody I want to meet. I'm just not a people person.
Ironically I am in Chicago for the Christmas weekend although I am from Wisconsin. For those who want to have a meetup, good for you. It's just not my cuppa.
