Is Joe Miller really that stupid?
He's lost.
Lost by votes counted, and lost in Alaska's supreme court.

Why can't he just say, "Ok, I lost." ?

3. Probably to keep his name in the news. After all, none of us
ever heard of him until Sarah made him famous.

5. Remember Norm Coleman?
The Great Minnesota Recount of 2008-09? He beat that dead horse to a pulp. He did it because he could and because he wanted to leave MN without a senator for as long as possible. Because he's a douchebag. And I assume the same to be true of Miller.

6. I think if I were in his situation,
I would have conceded as graciously as I could. If you want to have a future in politics, it might be a good idea to leave the voters with the impression that you're a guy with some class and some self-respect. But that's just me, and it looks like Joe Miller has nothing in common with me.

9. You have a point.
They would probably be overjoyed if he stood on the sidelines for the next six years and slung poo at Sen. Murkowski. If you can't win, do your best to torment the person who did win. I guess dignity is not a popular trait among the teabaggers.

15. I don't like that term
The right used that term daily after the 2000 elections (Sore Loserman meaning Gore Liberman). Reminds me of that nightmare of an election. :(

16. Exactly. They shoved it down our throats.
Edited on Sun Dec-26-10 01:42 AM by calimary
I think it's HIGH TIME we returned the favor.

Because that's what they are. Let's shove it down THEIR throats, and make 'em deny it. Taste of their own medicine. See how they like it. It probably won't stop them from abusing us further, but what MUST happen is that they must start to understand that if they do resort to that, it doesn't come without consequences. It just might bite them back - and HARD. It's easy for them to have done it because we didn't answer back. There were no consequences when they did it. I think there should be, for a change.

19. But it means Gore Liberman, no?
We could use it on Liberman when he votes against our interests, but not so much Gore.

11. He got beat by a girl.

I know. Lisa Murkowski is the daughter of a popular politician and no mean customer herself, but that doesn't mean Miller did't think his Tea Party and Sarah Palin-endorsed male behind wouldn't trounce her in the general election, as he did in the primary. For one thing--Tea Party and Sarah Palin-endorsed! And for another--Beard of Manlitude. And also--hired ex (and current!)-military journalist-quieting thugs bodyguards. But somehow, the people of Alaska looked at him in all his flanneled lawyer cum lumberjacklitude, and kind of went with a woman who may not be perfect, but actually did not strike them as a total raging buttfor.

Of the sort who thought the Berlin Wall meant to keep people "out" of East Berlin.

Maybe it doesn't boil down to chauvinism. I could be reading this completely wrong. And yet I invite anyone in Alaska to chant the following: "Joe got beat by a giiiii--urrrllll, Joe got beat by a giiii--uuuurrrll," in his vicinity and see what ultimately happens.

Although you may want to look both ways to see if his thugs bodyguards are about.
