If you could make a New Year's Resolution for someone else, who and what would it be?

1. Just to get the ball running...

I'd resolve that John Boehner has to get Satan off his speed dial.

2. Arizona should make a resolution to get over its xenophobia.

3. Sarah Palin retire from the public spotlight

and go live in obscurity in Alaska. Never ever to run for anything ever again. (Oh - and take ALL of her kids off of the public stage with her!)

8. A totally selfish wish...

I would make a resolution for my daughter to quit smoking.

There is a family history of heart disease on her father's side.

She had a scare earlier this year with a suspicious growth on her tongue (which turned out to be benign).

She is 38...has a 7 year old son.



This is not a social commentary on the Evils of Smoking...

I just wish she would quit, that's all.
