Poor Tom Brokaw. I know times are tough now.
I guess it is yet another sign of our troubled times that one of our country's most beloved and trusted journalists is reduced to having to clip coupons when he once was in a position to make fun of those who did so.

4. Something to the effect that...
...he once talked to people who bought two Sunday newspapers in order to get all the coupons, and his attitude was one of skepticism that things could be this bad for some people. Now, in light of current events, he understands the rationale behind it.

Elitist + condescending = Tom Brokaw.

5. That is the problem..
these people have no idea about how most people really live, they really believe their bullshit about the middle class, when it has been shrinking for years. These mkfers need to know what it feels like not to be able to by a damn roll of toilet tissue..

They will never put real town halls or people on tv unless its staged with commercials to cut in and bullshit questions. These stations spend all day with the rehashing nonsense about ipods, and polls. They need a phil donahue type of show or shows..

7. He claimed he used to make fun of people who cut coupons.
Which is the snobbiest thing I've ever heard anyone other than Bush Sr. or his wife say. He then went on to make the PREPOSTEROUS claim that he himself was now cutting coupons.

Yeah right, Tom.

Maybe Mr. Brokaw can get...oh what's it called...oh...A JOB...like the rest of the proles. Still plenty of McDonalds locations hiring extra help.

11. I nearly threw up my breakfast when I heard him *demand* that Obama change
his attitude towards business. What? More small business tax cuts than any other president in history. Give-aways to the health care industry in the form of 32 million more customers; Wall Street reform that leaves Glass-Steagall intact; support for TARP when he was a senator; rebuilding the car industry; allowing CEO bonuses with taxpayer money, etc.

What the fuck is Brokaw talking about? He is either clueless or is deliberately being intellectually dishonest. I'll take the latter explanation. The Corporate Media really has it in for this president and his administration. Joe Klein, Norah O'Donnell? Useless!!

Where's the real investigative journalism??!?!?!?
