Guess that Syrian pledge not to use force didn't last very long

Syrian security forces have opened fire on anti-government protesters in the city of Sanamein near Daraa, killing at least 20 people, according to one witness.

"There are more than 20 martyrs .... they opened fire haphazardly," the witness told Al Jazeera.

Reuters also reported that heavy gunfire could be heard in the southern city of Daraa, the focal point for demonstrations against Bashar al-Assad's regime in recent days.

Rula Amin, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Damascus, said Syrian forces apparently opened fire after protesters set fire to a statue of the late president Hafer al-Assad.

1. Wat? Syrians don't have cell phone cameras? According to some here a gun is no match for an MPEG.

Same goes for Libya. Let's roll a C-130 up to a Best Buy warehouse and let the I-phones do the talking.

2. I doubt the Arab League is going to say shit about Syria
Libya has been a thorn in the Arab League's side for awhile, they saw this as a chance to potentially get rid of Gadhaffi. I doubt you'll hear a peep from them about Syria, just like you haven't heard a peep from the AL about Yemen or Bahrain.
