BTW Prosser is the right wing incumbent SC Justice.
Dear Friends,
David Prosser is wrong.
Last night at a debate he said that special interests were spending $3 million in ads against him. That’s not true. Actually, special interests are spending $2 million to support him and attack JoAnne.
We told you at the start of this campaign, we’d keep you informed of the outside money that came in. Over the last three weeks, and up to election day, we know of about $4 million in third party spending in this race. And more money is coming in for the incumbent, and against JoAnne, every day.
JoAnne has said from the outset that, like it or not, third party groups have a constitutional right to air these ads. It’s not easy for JoAnne to hear her record distorted and her work maligned. But she’s taking the high road and behaving like an adult…continuing to focus on her background and qualifications…continuing to show with her words and her actions that she will bring independence and an open mind to her work as a Justice. She will be the new blood the Supreme Court so desperately needs.
Then there’s our opponent. You may remember that he voted, along partisan lines, not to discipline a fellow Justice for a despicable ad, an ad widely perceived to be a lie. Now, however, David Prosser is very, very angry about the $2 million being spent on ads against him…and thinks they should be stopped.
But in the end, this campaign isn’t about how mad David Prosser is. It isn’t about how much money flows into ads on either side.
This campaign is about you. We need your help, your energy and most importantly your vote on Tuesday April 5. Together, we can restore confidence in our Court by electing someone who is truly independent and impartial: JoAnne Kloppenburg.
Thanks for all you are doing.
