An efficient propaganda system requires equilibrium...
...And equilibrium requires an efficient propaganda system.

The status quo, the establishment, desires equilibrium within the political system.

The propaganda system is run by people like Rupert Murdock, Roger Ailes, the heads of the networks - ABC, NBC, CBS, and other lesser knowns. They hand down the "news" to the talking heads that we watch on our television sets. Most of the talking heads are programmed sufficiently that they do not need to be coached.

At the present time, the "propagandists" are seeking equilibrium between the Republican Party and the once-dominant Democratic Party. One needs to be built up as the other is minimized or torn down. If there are serious problems in the country and one Party is not capable of fixing them, then the "media propagandists" will present the other Party as the desirable option. It is not acceptable for one Party to be too dominant.

The last election was the result of looking for that equilibrium. That is why third parties are not permitted too much influence in our political process. They could interrupt the status quo and threaten the establishment and the powerful and the present equilibrium. And so it goes...

Politics is much more about propaganda than about political Parties. It is used to manipulate the people. People do not vote for what they need or even for what they want. They vote for what they are told to vote for. That is the political reality in which we live.

It is no longer about the needs of the people. It is no longer about our laws and Constitution. It is about who has the best propaganda. That is how political games are won.

1. On the topic of the movie Equilibrium.

I am aware of the metaphors on that topic. Specifically finding compassion around an animal. Although those metaphors can lead to bad doctrines.

It is a mine field when looking at areas of metaphors around pet doctrine. They are in many places, but there is a very close edge to pet or farm doctrine near those metaphors. You can see the representation of animals as people, but you have to remove the superiority feeling that also creeps into those metaphors.

Basically I understand those metaphors, but you have to think of best friend, not owned pet to be able to see those metaphors without the 'pet doctrine' trap. Pet doctrine sets up an ownership superior situation that can try to create an ownership relationship.

So I understand the metaphors with animals, but they are very dangerous metaphors.

There are many doctrines that also reverse pet doctrine. It was in the sci fi series dynotopia where they trained flying things, in avatar where they trained the flying things. It is said in many places. The commercial with the vikings, 'no we ride them' many other places. It is equally wrong in the other direction.

2. What I find so sad and frustrating is many (most) Americans do not understand
they are manipulated, even when faced with evidence they remain ignorant. The ignorance in American is appalling and often it has nothing to do with educational level, wealth level or anything. Instead, some are just simply ignorant and defend their ignorance with closed minds. And the hidden power and wealth continues with their agenda while the masses cheer for various politicians.

As you say, "It is (only) about who has the best propaganda. That is how political games are won." And that is pathetic.

5. Yep, absolutely true. Reminds me of those toy dolls that came out years
ago that you pulled the string and a prerecorded message played.

3. The political games are as real as WWF
This is the most accurate depiction I've seen yet as to how to really understand the system:
