Democrats Need to Back Obama

Democrats should move quickly to back the president on the tax bill or risk turning themselves into a minority party in Congress for a long time to come. By becoming reverse tax protesters (chanting "raise taxes"), the liberals are sending out all the wrong messages to a country that overwhelmingly backs the key elements of the bipartisan deal the president struck.

Obama took the first step this week in seeking to save his floundering presidency by moving to the center. His execution was far from perfect but his actions were sound.

BUT OF COURSE HE BACKS THE PRESIDENT AFTER RECEIVING $5.97 MILL FROM THE STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR PR:

Mark Penn's two firms awarded millions from stimulus for public relations work
By Alexander Bolton - 12/09/09 12:00 AM ET
A contract worth nearly $6 million in stimulus funds was awarded by the Obama adminstration to two firms run by Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton's pollster in 2008.

Federal records show that a contract worth $5.97 million, part of the $787 billion stimulus Congress passed this year, helped preserve three jobs at Burson-Marsteller, the global public-relations and communications firm headed by Penn.

Burson-Marsteller won the contract to work on a public-relations campaign to advertise the national switch from analog to digital television. Nearly $2.8 million of the contract was awarded through a subcontract to Penn's polling firm, Penn, Schoen & Berland, according to federal records.

6. I've never liked him -- always a 'ewww' response. Don't know if he reminds
me of someone or his attitude or what. Whenever I see him on TV, in that nanosecond before I realize who it is, my INITIAL reaction is "Republican".
