ILWU: "Leave Social Security Alone"
Just thought I'd share one of the articles from one of my union's publication.

Peace,

3. Longshoremen are pretty savvy
They have a long history of being effective advocates not just for themselves, but for the greater society. They've lost some clout in recent years through the systematic attacks on working people that Republicans have waged, but I'm still a lot happier when they're energized because they're so effective.

4. Here's a video we produced about our 2002 lock-out
One of the things we stress is solidarity with labor all over the world, giving back to our communities with out reach programs including giving the needy food and cloths, and providing scholarships, etc. All from donations we make every month on top of our monthly dues. In return this strengthens not only our union, but, our communities as well.

Our creed is: "An Injury To One Is An Injury To All". Nothing, IMO, can illustrate that more than if social security is injured.
