$250 a month for gas to heat the home
"Whaaa?" asked the incredulous would-be buyer..How much is electricity?..The realtor said it was about $1050....but then she said that's $2.50 and $10.50 a month..

Where is this miracle house?

A decent sized , lovely NEW house in Ecuador. 2-story 3 BR 2 bath..with a drop-dead view of the mountains.

Lousy holiday programming has shunted my viewing over to HGTV, and dammit now I am jonesing to move to Bratislava, or Ecuador, or Croatia, or Umbria

5. I'm in the process right now.
Just waiting to get professional dental certification there.

A little disconcerting was that I was in Ecuador during the USSD mini coup attempt against President Rafael Correa, which has really soured a lot more Ecuadorians to the US.

"Mitad del Mundo" or "Middle of the World" landmark which stands on the equator in the
appropriately named country of Ecuador. At noon on an equinox day of March 20 or 21
and September 22 or 23, the Sun is directly above the Earth’s equator.

6. I had a 750 s/f apartment in W PA with gas heat
I think it was about '04 I got gas bills that were about $250 a month heating to a reasonable temp around 65-68. That wake up call call had me dial back the temp to 60 and wear a coat indoors.
If I didn't have my parents to worry about, I'd move to Germany and build one of those zero energy homes.
