Luggage From Boston Blows Up in Miami
Luggage From Boston Blows Up in Miami

A passenger on American Airlines Flight 2585 that left Boston's Logan Airrport around 8:30 a.m. was arrested at Miami International Airport at about 11:30 a.m. and charged with carrying explosive materials after his luggage exploded on the tarmac.

The FBI took the unnamed 37-year-old man into custody and said the luggage "contained primer material used in making ammunition."

This is not considered an act of terrorism. No one was injured. The suspect was headed to Jamaica.

1. I'll bet a year from now we'll have to give up another civil right because of this
What could it be? We've given up our shoes, all sharp objects like fingernail files and nail clippers, all water bottles or small containers of liquids or gels. Now we have to go through scanners that can see our bodies under our clothes, and, or, get frisked quite unpleasantly in case we're hiding something in our underwear in our crotches. Mind you, all of these things we are now forced to do are over FAILED attempts of terrorism.

So I wonder what is left for us to give up or give into after this incident. I guess we'll find out within the year.

sigh

2. Firearms primers are certified Haz-Mat... not allowed to take on commercial planes for good reason.
