Eric's Last Wishes--Beautiful, riveting article. Must read.
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 03:29 PM by CoffeeCat
This is a three-part article to a story about a woman, Heather Jacobs, who lost
her husband, Eric Jacobs, in a plane crash. Eric and Heather had four very young
children, and Heather was pregnant with their fifth child when Eric died. Heather
went to retrieve Eric's will from the family safe, just a day after he died--and inside
the safe she found a CD titled, "Eric's Last Words." Heather had no idea this CD existed.

Four months before the plane crash, 31-year old Eric Jacobs had a dream that he would
"die young and leave five children behind." He was so moved by the dream, and convinced
that the dream was a premonition, that he made a 40-minute video for his family that night.

This is the full story, and it is really heart-wrenching and beautiful.

Regardless of what religion you practice--or if you practice no religion at all--this
is an amazing, universally appealing story about overcoming tragedy, hope, family,
and the importance of living every day to the fullest.

3. Interesting.
I wonder what the circumstances of the plane crash were. I have become pretty cynical and watching this makes me aware of just how much. At the beginning of the full length video made by Eric he stresses that they need to spread this message around. Is it possible that he contributed to this crash to make this magical statement by God. I wish only the best for the survivors!

4. There's no way that Eric Jacobs...

..contributed to the plane crash that ended his life.

Several of Eric's co-workers were to fly to Indiana, from Iowa. Eric didn't
think small planes were safe, so he purchased a commercial-airline ticket
and flew to Indiana by himself--while his coworkers flew on the charter flight.

The day that they were to fly back, Eric's commercial flight back to Iowa
was canceled due to fog. That is a fact. One of Eric's co-workers reported
that Eric reluctantly took the commuter flight--because he wanted to get home
to his family that night. His wife was pregnant and he wanted to be with his
family that night--not stay overnight in Indiana.

So--he didn't even want to get on that plane. Also, the NTSB did an investigation. It sounds
like the pilot made some grave errors. The plane was overloaded by 500 lbs. Witnesses
reported that the pilot was tired, and it was later discovered that the pilot was not
properly licensed to be flying business trips like this. He was inexperienced and had
not flown the required number of hours to be licensed to make these sorts of flights. Based
on the NTSB report, it is likely that the pilot was tired, became disoriented and lost
control of the plane and was unable to right the plane.

I understand cynicism. This really is an extraordinary story.
