She feels safe with ARPAIO, like with Mommie Dearest who never cooked breakfast or dressed the kids for school, never shot weapons, never fileted fish or caught them.

Palin palace: Here's what $172K bought Bristol

Here's the first look at Bristol Palin's priced- to-move new home in suburban Phoenix.

The former "Dancing" contestant recently closed on a 5-bedroom, 3,900 square-foot home in Maricopa, a 30-minute drive from Phoenix,... ....

Palin's new crib first sold for $329,560 in 2006 before being foreclosed.

The home was auctioned off on the courthouse steps and resold for $137,200 to investors Michael and Cynthia Smith, of Minot, ND this past April. ....

6. Exactly--home to a wanna-be Arpaio, but not the real deal. Bet Mr. Babeu
is planning a big ol' welcome party...

7. I did a fair amount of preparation and the link says "suburb of Phoenix" and Google said Phoenix is

the county seat of Maricopa County. Now, if all this is incorrect, the (suburb) name of "Maricopa" is at least reminiscent and IS in AZ of the Mc5planes/ARPAIO notoriety. My penchant is to play/ridicule/lampoon wingnuts and I regard all's fair in that department and don't really matter a hill o'beans, the way they ridicule-denigrate-mock-bully Libs.

13. Well, honestly when you start a thread with "can't make this up"
Edited on Wed Dec-29-10 02:54 PM by tammywammy
You could at least Google "Maricopa, AZ", go to the handy Wikipedia link that says "Maricopa is the most populous incorporated city in Pinal County".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maricopa,_Arizona
Because when you say it's in Maricopa County you are just "making it up".

14. Appreciate the efforts, but I grew up in Pinal County and Maricopa is there.
The Pinal County sheriff is a wanna-be, but not the real deal and the Latino voting bloc in Pinal Co. will probably curtail his dreams; it's much larger than even in Maricopa county.

18. I dunno about that. Rebecca Rios lost to a teabagger in November.
All the whiteys moving in to Casa Grande have skewed the voting demos.

15. The city of Maricopa is in not in Maricopa Co. And the town of Pima is not in Pima Co.
Arizona's weird like that.

I hate Arpaio as much as the next gal, but Maricopa IS NOT A SUBURB of Phx....it's a frikkin' 40 minute drive into the sticks.

25. There's rumors on the internets....
The first sign that the Palins were planning to move to Arizona came a few days ago when Bristol Palin paid cash for a house in a suburb just outside of Phoenix. She got a great deal on the house spending $172,000 for the 3,900 square foot, five bedroom house that was built in 2006 and originally sold for $329,560. Today information has leaked that Sarah Palin is now also looking for a house in that same area. It is said that she wants to be close to Bristol and her grandson.

A source said to be close to the Palins was reported as saying, “Both Sarah and Bristol are millionaires and have had enough of Alaska.” They go on to say that Both Sarah and Bristol raved about the sun and great weather in Los Angeles where Bristol Palin recently lived while appearing on the hit show Dancing with the Stars. Bristol Palin is planning on enrolling at Arizona State University in the fall.

9. Everyone here seems to need three garages. That monster has
5 bedrooms and only 2 baths, too (I'm pretty sure I'm familiar with the model; my ex and I used to live in a one story by the same builder in a similar development).

If it's the one I'm thinking of, the floorplan sucks mightily.

17. Good for her! She makes money for speaking engagements. No one
forces people to pay and attend.

She made money on DWTS, and it's quite likely the producers invited her (for whatever reason) and were not forced to do so.

She was working prior to DWTS.

She is going to go to school, is raising her child, has bought a house in which to raise that child. One would think people would give her efforts applause rather than scorn.

Oh yes, and she is doing this away from the nest, something young adults should do as they grow.

Again, good for her!

20. I agree
It sounds like she got a good price on that house, and more power to her if she's going to college. It sounds like she's spending the money earned from speaking and Dancing with the Stars very smartly.

It's WAY THE HELL OUT THERE.

I have a feeling she won't live there...just using it for in-state tuition costs.

I am sad for my alma mater for admitting that dumbass.

And what family of 2 needs a 3900 sq. foot house? Geez....I'm lost in my 1800 sq. foot house.
