O’Donnell: ‘Establishment’ out to get me



PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Christine O'Donnell, the defeated Republican candidate for the Senate in Delaware and a Tea Party favorite, on Wednesday dismissed a report that prosecutors and the FBI are investigating her for alleged misuse of campaign funds.

"Let us be clear. There was no impermissible use of campaign funds. Period," O'Donnell's campaign manager Matt Moran said in a statement.

Moran said the campaign had heard nothing beyond the "same unsubstantiated allegations and rumors that have been circulating in the press for months."

The Associated Press, citing an anonymous source, reported on Wednesday that a criminal probe into O'Donnell's campaign had been opened to look into any use by her of campaign money to pay personal expenses. AP said the case had been assigned to two federal prosecutors and two FBI agents in Delaware.
