I don't know ANY site that is smarter, more perceptive, funnier, better-written, more colorful, more provocative or half as imaginative as BartCop. Where other websites are mimeographed newsletters, his is a four-color magazine.

He has been doing it since 1996 -- long before any other sites were fighting our fight -- and he has never put down anyone except for GOP wingnuts. Even now, all he is doing that pisses DUers off is printing letters from disgruntled DUers. Is that wrong?

I'd sure like to know what websites people here think are as good as BartCop: Kos? Buzzflash? Alternet? DU?

There are TWO sites that get my hard earned money.
DU and Bartcop.

Bart has been around a LONG time so he gets some latitude from me.
Do yourself a favor.
Make a small donation and get access to his radio shows.
There are 100s of hours of him just destroying the right wing noise machine.
He's funny.
He's an Okie for Christ's sakes and he's a good liberal and a nice guy.
Not all liberals agree, and we're not all on the same page.
Yes, he has his issues, but who amongst us doesn't?

Edited for a word ommision and spelling correction

with most of his most critical positions.....first, being that you don't bring a knife to a gun fight, two, that democrats are spineless and have caved on important issues and three, and most importantly, Obama's lack of comprehension that republicans will never compromise.

The problem for any democrat, being DLC or otherwise is geting the message out. The Repubs control the media and I don't see that changing in my future.

I too visit his site and am a modest contributor to both DU and Bartcop. Totally different kinds of sites that I'm not sure can be compared side to side.

A lot of snark here, no coherent responses - looks like Bartcop wins this round - and I've never seen Bartcop before today. Really, I thought it was some internet security site, or malware fighters or something, just never paid attention before.

Is there, as bartcop suggests, some hidden rule on DU that people aren't allowed to criticize it, even elsewhere on the internet?

As far as I can tell by reading the referenced threads at DU, and other threads involving the banned people, for someone to suggest around the time of Obama's nomination that he was and is what he has since turned out to be, and that this was visible from his previous record, was considered 'trolling'. Am I missing something?

The smartest person I know online used to post there (Trogg). I wasn't welcomed there. Too independent and they were paranoid about trolls.

However, Bartcop's design is antiquated. Why the heck should any site have a page telling people how to read it or navigate it?

Well actually no one "post" there except Bartcop. It is a blog, not a board. All he has done is print some emails that he has gotten. Sorry if that upsets anyone. I shouldn't have to point out that the design of the site has nothing to do with the content, unless you prefer form to substance. By the way, dont play poker with the guy. They were at the edge, the rebels, way back. (I was not one. The board was insular. I was always beyond Bartcop passionate partisanship.
