GOP’s Recipe for Fiscal Disaster: CUT/GO

The Republicans in the House are setting the stage to break the federal budget with more unpaid for tax cuts that would add to the deficit. And block any revenue stream to pay for the services and programs Americans have become accustomed to.

So, what is their answer? Republican leaders want to cut existing programs to pay for any new spending and then cut again, until they have achieved their Randian Libertarian paradise, wherein the wealthy and the federal government can be relieved of their social contract to help the less fortunate.

The House Republicans call their plan CUT/GO, as opposed to the Democratic PAY/GO policy.

And as part of the plan to eventually dismantle the social safety net of Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, the GOP also proposes altering the rules of the legislative reconciliation process to make it easier to pass deficit-busting tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations.

Welcome to the Republican controlled House of Representatives.

2. Funny, wasn't it Obama who made that deal that allowed those hundreds of billions of dollars in debt
To continue into the future?

Oh, yeah, that's right, another instance of bipartisan agreement.

11. Eh.
Reagan $2T
Clinton $4T
Chimp $6T
$12T

If you follow the math...Obama will lay $8T* on us. And then we'll hear "Who do you appreciate?"

*Simple math.

4. It is called "Starving the Beast. They have been on a mission
to smaller government. Finding it impossible to out and
out cut what they call Entitlements: SS, Medicare, Medicaid
and Welfare, they took the back door route. Cut Taxes.
Every time you cut taxes, there means less money going to
Federal Government to cover programs. I am old enough
to remember how much more SS and how many more benefits
were covered just years ago. Get the Picture. Cut taxes
means cut the programs. It also means raiding SS Frund
to cover other programs and even wars if running short of
financing. The goal --eventually so little money coming
in to Government the programs must be ended. Starve the
Beast(Government) of meney necessary to support the the
Social Safety Net. After all, this is a center right
country built on Individualism. Pull yourself up by your
own bootstraps, Buster. No one owes you anything.
( Forgive my sarcasm in last 3 sentences.)

5. Of course. The biggest driver of our current deficit is the Bush Tax Cuts.
There is a really good chart on this. I am sure it's still out there.

It is credit card Republicanism and the utter irresponsibility of "Reaganomics"

THE LAST 3 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS HAVE ACCOUNTED FOR NEARLY 100% OF OUR INCREASE IN THE NATIONAL DEBT SINCE 1981

?

Every President, from Truman to Carter, steadily paid down the staggering debt that was run up in our fight against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. That pattern came to a screeching halt with Reagan/Bush and Bush. Clinton’s fiscal policy was a brief respite during this orgy of deficit spending.

Clinton balanced 4 budgets, which is 4 times as many balanced budgets as the last 5 Republican presidents combined.

President Obama, like President Clinton, inherited a sea of red ink and a recession from his predecessor. He, like President Clinton, recognizes the importance of getting America back to work and then getting our fiscal house in order.

See National Debt Graph @: http://zfacts.com/p/318.html

See Yearly Deficits: http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/108xx/doc10871/HistoricalTables.pdf

WHY DO REPUBLICAN ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES EXPAND THE NATIONAL DEBT?
-The answer is simple mathematics. Reduced revenue + increased spending ='s increased debt-

http://cedarcomm.com/~stevelm1/usdebt.htm

The two biggest promises of "Trickle Down Economics" are it's greatest failings. Proponents of "Trickle Down Economics” claim that tax cuts, skewed to the rich, will create jobs and increase tax revenues. The graph above disproves the latter claim. Job creation plummets under "Trickle Down Economics (see http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html )and nine of the last ten recessions have occurred under Republican leadership (see http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html ).

Two things are certain to grow when a Republican is in the White House, unemployment and the National Debt.

By contrast, "Bubble Up" economnic priciples practiced by Democratic Administrations put people to work, rev up the economy, and balance the Nation's ledger books. Every time. No exceptions.

8. Like I said when the tax deal went through TWO WEEKS AGO,
I don't want to hear a fucking word about the "debt crisis" from any of those assholes!

What an absolute insult to our intelligence. How short do they think our memories are?
