Live Coverage: Rahm Emanuel Takes the Stand
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 04:56 PM by Mike 03
Here is a current link to the mayoral hearing in Chicago. His "Objectors" are questioning him now.

CNN had initially covered it, but elected to terminate the coverage for reasons unknown. This is a fascinating hearing on so many levels.

1. Thanks, I needed a break from my work
This circus of nutters should be fun. I truly doubt anything will come of it (any more than the contesting of Mitt Romney's residency when he was living in Salt Lake City and wanted to run for governor of Massachusetts came to anything).

You have to have been following this locally to truly appreciate the "birther" nature of some of the charges here.

6. Isn't That The Question: Was or Wasn't Rahm a Boarder Within the Borders?
My understanding is that this whole case is whether Rahm, who owned a house in Chicago, but didn't actually live in it, was an inhabitant within the borders of the city. If he really was a boarder in Chicago, within its borders, he is qualified to run, even if he didn't live in his own house there but in the suburbs. So, if he boarded in someone else's house there, he's good to go for Mayor.

7. If they rule against him it could open a new bag a worms
can a senator run a second time because he has been living in Washington part of the time? How about anyone who gets elected to Washington?

4. My wife and I this morning were laughing about this set up
The 24 objectors w/o lawyers...it's really akin to a communist show trial wherein some parade of denouncers come in and do the whole j'accuse rtoutine. Hilarious.

Gotta love Chicago!
