Local girl (OH), 10, collects blankets to donate to shelter animals

BRECKSVILLE, Ohio - A local 10-year-old is on a mission to help local shelter animals.

Harley Helman started her own non-profit organization in 2009 called Blankets Fur Beasties and she's already making a difference.

She began collecting blankets, toys, beds, food and treats and donating them to area shelter animals.

Her most recent donation drive began on Dec. 1. On Thursday morning, Harley picked up the donations and began to distribute them to animals in need at area shelters.

Harley is hoping to make a difference for the many homeless animals in the area by making them a little happier while they wait for their forever homes.
