NYT correction on Manning/Lamo story:
FRONT PAGE

An article on Dec. 16 about the possibility of prosecuting Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, after his Web site disclosed classified government documents referred incorrectly to Wired magazine’s publishing of excerpts of Internet chat logs that may be relevant to the investigation. The excerpts, recording online conversations between the main suspect in the leaks, Pvt. Bradley Manning, and an ex-hacker who turned him in, Adrian Lamo, do in fact contain references to communications between Mr. Assange and Private Manning, and to a server for uploading files to WikiLeaks. It is not the case that Wired’s excerpts omitted mention of such contacts.

1. And in other news....
"In February 1971 Ellsberg discussed the study with New York Times reporter Neil Sheehan, and gave 43 of the volumes to him in March. The Times began publishing excerpts on June 13, 1971."

Perhaps the DOJ Cold Case Unit ought to re-open this one too.

Assange helped Manning take the material.

So, that's a problem for the conspiracy charge against Assange. The government's evidence is this log, Lamo's testimony and Manning. The log apparently doesn't implicate Assange, Lamo is not the best witness as his story keeps changing and he has a psych history and Manning has so far refused to talk.

However, had Assange helped Manning in some way, he'd only be doing what journalists do that all the time. They don't just sit at their desks and wait for great stories to show up.

/oops

In other words, passing time at Faux is a dead end for losers who never intended to work for a living, to begin with.
