Klondike Kat
Klondike Kat's JournalGot a call from my Trumpist brother
My wife talked to him for a few minutes and then passed the phone to me. I lasted about two minutes before I told him to f off and hung up on him.
I don't respond well to stupidity (or so I've been told).
My PC took a dump this morning
Main board. The computer was due for replacement, but I wanted to wait until I could set aside the cash for it. I thought about building one myself (I built lots of them early in my career in IT) but a) I haven't kept up with component specs and b) I hate dealing with any warranty issues that may pop up.
So I ordered one online from CLX.
Three kittens have arrived
They're litter-mates. We were only expecting two but just couldn't break them up. My wife named them Laverne, Shirley, and Tilly.
No pictures yet.
Notes from a trip to Ireland
My wife and I just returned from an eight-day tour of Ireland - learned more about Irish history than *I* ever wanted to know but my wife was thrilled (she's FBI - Full Blooded Irish). We had a limited amount of conversations with the people living in Ireland, but one conversation stood out.
We had completed a viewing of the Titanic museum in Belfast and had stepped outside to experience more of the lovely Irish weather (light rain). As we were talking to each other a young man noticed our decidedly Midwestern accent and asked where we were from. When we answered "Minnesota" he started asking questions about the upcoming election and wondered how anyone in their right mind could support Trump. We responded that we, too, had no idea but were trying to illuminate as many as possible to the dangers of another Trump term. Before we parted company, he said "over here we love your governor".
I got three yard signs today
A gentleman came by stumping for Jeanne Hendricks (DFL candidate for MN6). On his bicycle were signs for Jeanne, Amy Klobuchar, and Kamala Harris. So I've all three of them in my yard - plus one for a mayoral candidate.
Chuck our one-eyed wonder cat crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday
He was almost 19 years old. The last several years he was on medication for hyperthyroidism. Even though he ate a great deal he was just skin and bones and was having a hard time getting around.
It felt strange not having a furry alarm clock to wake me up this morning.
For the first time in over 20 years we are without a cat in the house. I'm not certain how I feel about that.
I'd post a photo of Chuck, but I don't know how to insert it.

And that's all I've got to say about that.
One-eyed Chuck the Wonder Cat brought in a Christmas present
this morning.
He caught a mouse in the garage and decided he would bring it inside to "play" with because it was too cold out in the garage. It promptly escaped and ran into the front closet.
I'll be setting mouse traps when I get home from work.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
