Fascism on MSNBC

I have had it on most of the afternoon in my office and again in the house. While it has not been THE story, it has been addressed, head on, as a conversation.

Every show had a segment on it. Every show said the US is on the road to fascism. No one was using weasel words.

Am I overthinking what I heard or did you hear it, too?

Polonium, I don't care how it happens as long as it happens ASAP! Personally I prefer slow, excruciating pain for him since that would be his Karma, but at this point I just want him to be gone, now.

FIGHT BACK AGAINST IT.

Just the eternal handwringing of the pundit class, who will all amazingly still have good salaries and nice houses while “regular” Americans are rounded up nightly.

Numerous times I have heard them say "protests work." Not once, not twice, but all evening long. They talked in detail about massive protests and they traced the history of how large protests have succeeded. This comes from Rachel, from the guests, and from Velshi, the guy who is taking over Lawrence O'Donnell's show tonight.

They have also discussed the ACLU lawsuits against the Federal INDIVIDUALS who are coming in like brownshirts.

Au contraire to what you say, they have done an excellent job of telling how people are fighting back and what can be done. One of the guests even told the audience "you have to get out there."

Oh, and they talked about Larry Krassner, too.

Where do you get this stuff? Don't you actually listen? Why do you post this "oh nothing can be done" crap? Take it elsewhere. We don't need learned helplessness demonstrations around here.

Major protests ever since, until this year, due to age and COVID.
I‘ve supported the ACLU. I’ve supported EVERY Democratic candidate since I could vote.
I’ve done all that and much more for 50 years.
And look where we’re at.

I wrote what I wrote about people who get paid lots of money TO TELL US WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW!
I just wish someone could tell us, 50 years after my first Vietnam war protest, where I was beaten by the police just like they’re doing on TV NOW, how to win this fucking war against fascism.

It’s been a fascist nation for decades for people of color

Now it’s fascism for the rest of us.

I didn’t come to the aid of the blacks because I wasn’t black
I didn’t come to the aid of the Mexican kids in cages because I wasn’t Mexican
Now they come for me.

Too late.

People are outright calling the Trump administration fascist and Trump a dictator wannabe. I think there is a sense of urgency, that we don't have time to play nice and civil. Our worst nightmares are becoming reality right in front of our faces. Anyone who has the slightest sense of history, knows how quickly a democracy can be destroyed. It has been happening all over the world.

Of course, MSNBC was one of many news outlets partially responsible for giving Trump nonstop media coverage throughout the campaign, while promoting the Hillary's emails story. What other presidential candidate in history had almost every political rally broadcast live? They were handing him the presidency for free.

They must have ulterior motives. They've dodged every opportunity to connect the dots. When Barr shut down Mueller. When Mitch shut down impeachment. When Trump shut down public health.

Frankly, I think the national media has been complicit in a major cover-up, so why "fascism bad", why now?

How do you stop it from happening? It has been obvious that we have been heading in this direction ever since the Senate voted to acquit impeachment even though the evidence was overwhelming that the crime was committed. That is when the rule of law broke down. There is no do over. Every Senate Republican except Romney should be voted out of office the next time they run.
