Justice Clarence Thomas says in Atlanta: “We can’t be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want” — though his wife Ginni Thomas attempted to do just that as she sought to help overturn Biden’s 2020 election win.

Sourcing info on the Internet is an overwhelming feat. I see that the SEC was established during the Great Depression. Greed and corruption of nearly every source of power in this country appears to have been the result. At our founding Capitalism was the preferred system over Mercantilism.

IMHO the politicization of every facet of our daily life seems to have arisen when progressives were culled from the GOP during the Iraq war. Seems to have set us on the path back to Feudalism.

when Southern Democrats and many Dems in other regions left the party to vote for Reagan and then become Republicans. Some were outright, overt racists who could not stand the idea of equality and integration. Others were not the type to use the N word or support any overt action against POC. They insisted that they were not racist because their definition of racism was a Klan member. But they moved out of integrating neighborhoods. They enrolled their children in private parochial schools to avoid busing and school integration.

They supported Republican ideas about trickle down economics. They believed that they were virtuous hard workers compared to people asking for "handouts" to boost them up against racism. The Republicans that they voted for cut taxes for the upper classes, shifting the burden to middle and working classes. They supported Republicans who busted unions, kept wages low, and gave huge salaries and bonuses to CEOs. They believed their Republican politicians who blamed the lowered standards of living for middle and working classes on "the other" - those people who benefited from desegregation laws, equal rights laws, and got "special treatment."

All that anger and resentment found a voice in Donald Trump who told them what they wanted to hear and expressed how they felt.

My God Goldwater saw this coming in 1981...

"Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them...."

He's useful now in getting them to the white nationalists' dream of a white America. First, stop the decline in white population by outlawing abortions (most abortions are of white babies). Then prevent mixed race children from depleting white population by outlawing mixed race marriages. Don't say it can't happen--that would be the same argument people made about Roe. And look where we are now.

Clarence "Slappy" Thomas should be wearing a blue vest and greeting shoppers at Walmart instead of on the bench.

And, since his traitorous wife longs to live in an authoritarian country, she should be deported to one.
