Ok...maybe I should post more. We don't know what the next trouble for Putin will be exactly, but he has been exposed as a paper bear blowing and almost toppling.

I was just explaining to my daughter and her oldest son about how ugly the situation is for the world.

If the crazy bastard didn't have nukes it wouldn't be a concern.

Putin thought that he would roll the folks in Ukraine. Didn't happen.

When his boy (who is also bat shit crazy) was coming for him yesterday....was there enough of Russian military to protect Putin?

Will Putin be worse? Will he be finally open to an off ramp? Who knows?

Will the head of the Wagner group be poisoned or leap out of a window?

If so, will he be hailed as a martyr? He had quite the send off to Belarus.

Will the forces in the Wagner group or the Russian army simply lay down their arms and go home?

Is there a sane actor in Russian leadership?

I'm glad we have Biden in the White House. I'm sure NATO agrees.

He won because he was able to turn Wagner around, probably by convincing them the nukes were ready to fly and he didn't care who else burned.

He lost because the people were practically begging Wagner to take his regime down. Much of the rank and file in the military were supporting wagner Pilots were refusing to fly against wagner. Putin didn't know if the defenses in Moscow would betray him.

Those last points don't go away with a magical deal. They only set the stage for the next act. And the one after that.

You can't go from... "this guy's a traitor and a criminal who has betrayed the mother-land" to "ok give him amnesty and agree to his demands in the defense department because he has a gun to my head" without looking very weak.

Maybe they are giving Putin some good ammo to try and spin this in his favor.
