Wisconsin GOP asks State Supreme Court to uphold ballot drop box ban
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin GOP is asking the State Supreme Court to uphold its interpretation in 2022 that barred the use of ballot drop boxes.
The now-liberal majority court has expedited a challenge to that 2022 decision. Oral arguments are scheduled for Monday, May 13th.
The State Supreme Court announced they would take up the issue of secure drop boxes for absentee election ballots in March.
Less than two years ago, the high court ruled the boxes were illegal after their widespread use during the 2020 election amid the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
