reasons why I finally left South Dakota for Minnesota permanently and why hubby, a lifelong South Dakotan, had no trouble joining me. The state has really changed in the past ten or so years. Twenty years ago, when I first moved there, the state would never have gone for Trump and Noem. People would have seen right through them. Noem barely won her first governor's race, she very nearly lost to Democrat Billy Sutton.

But now, the state's just gone fucking crazy and full theocratic fascist authoritarian while screaming about "freedom". It's really painful to see. Hubby spent nearly seventy years there and said he never thought it would ever happen.
