Staff Mutiny Forces Pub to Turn Away JD Vance

A staff mutiny forced the management of a plush British countryside pub to turn away JD Vance, just weeks after the same venue hosted Kamala Harris, according to reports.

The vice president had reportedly attempted to dine at The Bull in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, an early 16th-century countryside pub with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a prestigious award from the Michelin Guide that highlights restaurants offering excellent food at moderate prices.

However, the staff reportedly staged a mutiny, telling management that they wouldn’t show up to work if the venue accepted Vance’s dinner booking, according to a Popb---- newsletter from Thursday.

The rejection is all the more embarrassing considering that former vice president turned presidential hopeful, Kamala Harris, dined there just weeks before, as part of the pre-wedding dinner for Steve Jobs’ daughter, Eve. She married Harry Charles, a 26-year-old British Olympic equestrian, in the Cotswolds, a sprawling area of natural beauty in south-west England, at

It’s white boy dirt eater VP Puddin’ butt whining about discrimination. Of course, it’s only discrimination when applied to people who consider taking Harriet Tubman’s hymnal out of a museum.

Excuse me, I have to go find my earplugs.

Call it “cancel culture” if you will, but fascists shouldn’t enjoy a casual, relaxed public life while they strip rights from the rest of us.

My edit, "Call it “cancel culture” if you will, but fascist shouldn't enjoy a casual, relaxed public life while they strip rights from the rest of us."

I just added a suffix. I had to google it to look up the proper grammatical term.

Brits tend to be able to tell yu to go to hell and make you happy to be on your way. Or in a different metaphor, to cut you off at the knees and you don't know it until you try to take a step.

I'm guessing the conversation on their end went like this:

Such a horrible shame, we're closing the dining room on the day you want to come ...why? We're having staff training. Yeah, thats it. Staff training. Maybe you can rebook for [some date you know Shady can't make]? Our kitchen will be still open, would Deliveroo work?

In my mind this is the perfect diss.... You've said no, but offered options you know that the other party won't take up so it's not an obvious Eff Off. Of course the dining room can close for a variety of reasons.... Not just staff training. And I just don't see Shady Vance whipping out their phone and trying to order stuff on Deliveroo.

But I think I should mention we are serving Braised Canine in a honey glaze that day, and

we've also recently added Feline stew with parsnips and Brussel sprouts - we hear they are both very popular in the States.

I found it annoyingly cryptic, so I googled it and got the following AI summary: "The term "popb---- newsletter" likely refers to the Popbitch newsletter, which is known for its celebrity gossip, scandalous stories, and otter-themed content. It's a popular email newsletter, delivered every Thursday, that shares insider information about celebrity, music, media, and politics."

Just thought I'd share that in case anyone else was scratching their head like I was. It seems a bit precious to me to not just spell out the title of the newsletter in the article, but whatever.

At a pub where the posh go to dine,
Kamala found food quite divine.
But when JD came round,
The staff stood their ground—
“No service!” they said, “Cross the line!”

At The Bull, where the rich wine and feast,
Kamala had dined like a priest.
But when Vance made a call,
Staff threatened a brawl—
“Serve him? We'd sooner quit, at least!”
