Former McCain, Sinema backers to host fundraiser for Gallego

Source: The Hill

A group of moderates are set to raise money for Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) on Saturday as his Senate race against Kari Lake heats up, Gallego’s campaign confirmed to The Hill.

Prominent donors to the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and outgoing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) will host a fundraiser for the Phoenix Democrat, proving his appeal to the center. The fundraiser was first reported by Politico.

Both Gallego and Lake have attempted to capture the middle in the race, though Lake has struggled to overcome her controversial 2022 gubernatorial campaign and close alignment with former President Trump.

In that 2022 race, Lake once told McCain-backing Republicans to “get the hell out,” and openly spurned the middle. She also embraced 2020 election fraud conspiracies and later claimed that her election loss was fraudulent.

Sounds like the GOP has broken into two pieces and one of those pieces is joining the Dem party?

It is now the MAGat Party.

The parade of members of the former GOP, including the current Speaker of the House, who was proudly standing outside of a criminal trial for the one who transformed the GOP into a vast criminal organization, shamelessly parroting pre-written talking points given to him, is proof right there.

Those who have not yet been consumed have been reduced to being like deer-in-headlights, completely paralyzed and unable to function.

We are looking at the break up of a long standing US political party.

Yes the GOP has been taken over by MAGA and international political forces.
Yes they have become a crime syndicate, not a political party.

The GOP has broken into two pieces:
Those that are fine with being criminals.
Those that cannot swallow that direction.

Your OP is extremely important because it shows us the next step for the GOP.

It is showing us that the deer in the headlights group is now waking up and joining forces
with the Dem party.

I am going to make an OP about this.

was a catalyst that spawned a revolutionary ideology change among many southern Democrats dubbed "Dixiecrats", coupled with the rise of Goldwater and a nascent Republican party who welcomed them, the election of the first black President of the U.S. in 2008 became a further catalyst for the Republican party to begin a self-destruct sequence as a functioning party, making it nothing more than the landing place for bigoted nativist extremists. That then made it ripe for embracing fascism as a means to remain in power.

wasted 6 years of everybody and Arizona's time and pissed away half a dozen opportunities to make the country just a little bit better off, all cause you wanted to be the cutest little princess in Washington.

What a fucking waste of human DNA.
