Michael J Pollard was in the original broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie and played Kim's BF, Hugo Peabody



I just found this out today and went Ewww!!! Can't find anymore pics of him in that roll. I love that musical and that movie, but I can't imagine a creepy guy playing that roll...LOL

His hair is straightened in this pic.

The dynamic of the triangle of Birdie, boyfriend, and fan is a very big change from the Broadway show. Realize that Bobby Rydell's part was played on Broadway by Michael J. Pollard and you KNOW it has to be different. Rydell, Pearson, and Ann-Margret sing and dance A Lot of Living To Do.

He always played creepy characters and in movie Hugo was played by Bobby Rydell. I can't imagine creepy Pollard in that role!
