(15,055 posts)There are ethical ways to catch tuna, and ways that kill turtles, sharks, whales, and scores of other marine life as bycatch and unintended kills.
I'll give you one guess which way is cheaper for commercial fisherman.
So yes, campaigns that shame people into buying brands that buy from fleets that use modern bycatch reducing fishing gear are appropriate.
It's not funny.

*Scampi is an Italian word for shrimp. Why there is a dish called "Shrimp Shrimp," I wouldn't know. But then I have heard it is now also fashionable in America to have "Gelato Ice Cream." Since "Gelato" is the Italian word for "ice cream," what "gelato ice cream" is supposed to be, I'm sure I don't know. Anybody for some pesce fish?
