RUMSFELD: "My pathway led by Confusion boats/ mutiny from stern to bow..."
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 03:53 PM by Old Crusoe
--to borrow from Bob Dylan to swipe as a summary for the circumstances our Secretary of Defense finds himself in. His generals are calling him an incompetent, inappropriate, arrogant jerk, and demanding his head on a platter.

As I type this, Donald Rumsfeld has a little over 30 minutes left of the business week on Eastern time to resign.

Awfully stubborn, he probably won't do it.

But Dylan's lyrics are clear. So are Jackson Browne's: "O people, look around you; the signs are everywhere..."

If I don't actually expect Rumsfeld to resign in half an hour, it doesn't mean it isn't a good idea.

______________
on edit: I thanks mdmc for reminding me to credit the songs I quoted. The Dylan passage is from "My Back Pages" and the Jackson Browne line is from "Rock Me On the Water."

2. Hi, mdmc. It's "My Back Pages." I will try to edit the post and
add that at the bottom if there's still time to.

Thanks for the heads up.
